Please note: I visited this area in 2012 so some of the below information may be out of date.

Arrived at Manorbier Youth Hostel last night - the hostel is situated on top of the cliffs overlooking the Bristol Channel and there are nice views across the water.
After breakfast this morning I left the hostel and headed out to Carew Castle and Tidal Mill (link).

Carew Castle is one of the few castles that shows the evolution of a Norman Castle to an Elizabethan country house. From the castle there is a walk beside the Carew river to the Carew Tidal Mill, the only restored tidal mill in Wales and one of only five in Britain.

From the Tidal Mill, I crossed the mill pond (which is formed from the Carew River) and made my way back along the opposite side of the river to Carew. Here I had a nice lunch of mushroom soup at the Carew Inn - a welcome treat after the cold of the walk!

After I had finished lunch I headed off again to the Bishops Palace at Lamphrey, a country retreat of the medieval bishops of St. Davids.

Once I had finished exploring the palace I returned to the Youth Hostel for dinner. Tomorrow I'm heading back home.
